Sempre me interessei por encontrar a relação entre o crescimento económico a longo prazo de um país e o nível de empreendedorismo. Embora vivamos na era da inovação e da mentalidade do investidor, motivou-me a ideia de encontrar esta aplicação e relação num país em desenvolvimento com uma economia em transição. A razão pela qual escolhi o empreendedorismo prende-se com o meu fascínio pela ideia de autoemprego e liderança. Ao terem um horário de trabalho diferente, os empresários tendem a seguir um estilo de trabalho diferente e, através da inovação, podem ter um enorme impacto no crescimento do país no futuro. Devo dizer que algumas das maiores ideias de negócio provêm da inovação e não de invenções, por exemplo, a Walmart surgiu da melhoria do negócio de retalho através de lojas de desconto em todos os EUA, enquanto a Amazon inovou a ideia da loja de retalho para o nível do comércio eletrónico. Por isso, era importante para mim que fosse efectuado um estudo sobre a quantidade de emprego criado pelas empresas na economia. Este trabalho deverá ajudar a lançar alguma luz sobre este dinâmico mundo dos negócios e deverá ser especialmente útil para todos os que estão ansiosos por encontrar a sua utilidade na sua investigação.
