Se presenta una propuesta práctica para llevar a cabo la evaluación a través del uso del portafolio, es decir dossieres o carpetas que contienen una selección de trabajos y producciones de niños y niñas que ellos mismos confeccionan con la colaboración del profesorado y de las familias. En este proceso de selección de material participan los tres agentes del proceso educativo, de esta manera en los portafolios podemos encontrar un amplio abanico de posibilidades: ideas sobre proyectos de trabajo, observaciones sistemáticas y anecdóticas, textos fotografías, grabaciones, expresiones creativas, registros de conversaciones, opiniones, etc. Las autoras nos presentan, a partir de su experiencia, un proceso gradual y muy guiado para introducir esta estrategia en la práctica, con abundancia de ejemplos fácilmente adaptables a cada circunstancia. 10
