El cómic, etiquetado tradicionalmente como noveno arte, es un medio plenamente interdisciplinar desde sus orígenes y en las últimas décadas está aprovechando de manera más intensa su hibridismo y su lugar privilegiado en la encrucijada de la interrelación artística. En este volumen, además de abordar la relación del cómic con las artes tradicionales, tanto las visuales (arquitectura, pintura, escultura y fotografía) como las literarias y las escénicas (danza, música y teatro), se analiza su posición dentro de la teoría del arte y sus conexiones con los museos y las instalaciones artísticas, sin descuidar su conexión con otras artes menos canónicas, como los videojuegos y el diseño gráfico.
