Dies ist eine Studie über die physische Umgebung, die sozialen Merkmale und die Wahrnehmung der Sicherheit in einer bewachten Wohnanlage in Ibadan, Nigeria. Die Studie identifiziert relevante Faktoren, die für die Angst vor Kriminalität von Bedeutung sind. Die Studie verwendete den konzeptionellen Rahmen der Kriminalprävention durch Umgebungsgestaltung als Strategie zur Kriminalitätsbekämpfung. Die Studie hat Auswirkungen auf die Gewährleistung einer erhöhten Sicherheit bei der zukünftigen Gestaltung und Entwicklung von bewachten Wohnanlagen und ist für die Formulierung der Wohnungspolitik in Nigeria von wesentlicher Bedeutung. Diese Studie wird der Regierung und den Technokraten für geschlossene Wohnanlagen in Drittländern im Allgemeinen und in Nigeria im Besonderen als gutes Feedback dienen, indem sie ihnen relevante Informationen zur Verfügung stellt, die als Leitfaden für die Verbesserung und Entwicklung geschlossener Wohnanlagen dienen werden.
