Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Die Volksrepublik China hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten durch grundlegende Reformen die Transformation von einer Zentralverwaltungswirtschaft zur Marktwirtschaft stets vorangetrieben und unumkehrbar gemacht. Mit Wachstumsraten von durchschnittlich nahezu 10% hat sich die Volkswirtschaft erstaunlich positiv entwickelt. China öffnet sich kontinuierlich den internationalen Märkten und sein Außenhandel wächst mit einem rasanten Tempo. Im Zuge der Öffnungs- und Reformpolitik hat China bisher erfolgreich umfangreiche Auslandsinvestitionen sowie Technologien und Managementwissen ins Land geholt. Dank der Kombination aus einer massiven Investition in die Infrastruktur und einem fast unerschöpflichen Angebot an billigen Arbeitskräften hat China sich zu einem außerordentlich wettbewerbsfähigen Produktionsstandort internationaler Unternehmen entwickelt. Aktuell ist China die drittgrößte Exportnation nach Deutschland und den USA. Unübersehbar leistet die Exportwirtschaft einen bedeutenden Beitrag zum Bruttoinlandsprodukt. Auf der anderen Seite steht diese Exportdynamik mit einem Nachfrageschub nach Rohstoffen und Energie sowie Vorleistungen und damit verbunden mit einem Importsog in unmittelbarem Zusammenhang. Ungeachtet der enormen Fortschritte sind weitere strukturelle Anpassungen mit höherem Schwierigkeitsgrad notwendig. Bisher basiert das anhaltende Wirtschaftswachstum hauptsächlich auf dem massiven Inputwachstum und weniger aufgrund steigender Produktivität. Anhaltende makroökonomische Ungleichgewichte und Ineffizienzen deuten darauf hin, dass die Aufrechterhaltung dieses Wachstumsmuster langfristig nicht gesichert ist. Bei einer näheren Betrachtung des chinesischen Wirtschaftswunders ist unschwer festzustellen, dass das chinesische Wachstumsmodell keinesfalls eine bahnbrechende Neuerfindung in der Industrialisierungsgeschichte darstellt.
