La saldatura ad arco sommerso genera un elevato apporto di calore e, a causa del continuo ciclo di riscaldamento e raffreddamento, nel pezzo saldato si sviluppano tensioni residue. Il presente volume si propone di approfondire la comprensione della distribuzione termica e dello sviluppo delle tensioni residue nel processo di saldatura. Per la misurazione in tempo reale delle temperature vengono utilizzate termocoppie, mentre per la misurazione delle tensioni residue viene impiegata la tecnica XRD. Il controllo dello sviluppo delle tensioni residue può migliorare la resistenza della saldatura e ridurre la deformazione.
