La presente ricerca si propone di studiare le caratteristiche microstrutturali della zona equiax non dendritica e i difetti di criccatura a caldo influenzati dalla composizione chimica dei metalli d’apporto. Sarebbe opportuno studiare gli effetti della chimica del riempimento sulla zona equiax non dendritica e sulla formazione di cricche a caldo, in particolare con l’aggiunta di silicio e cupro. Per fare un confronto con il filo Al-12Si commerciale, è stato studiato un nuovo filo Al-6,2Cu-5,4Si per migliorare le proprietà della zona equiax non dendritica e limitare le cricche a caldo su giunti a T composti da leghe Al-Li 2060-T8 e 2099-T83.
