Lo studio ha esaminato l’impatto del capitale sociale nel moderare gli effetti della pandemia di Covid19 sulla salute mentale dei lavoratori. Abbiamo ipotizzato che il livello di capitale sociale influenzi la salute mentale dei lavoratori durante la crisi del Covid19. I dati sono stati ricavati da un’indagine trasversale su 422 dipendenti di vari settori industriali del Ghana, analizzati utilizzando la modellazione di equazioni strutturali basata sui minimi quadrati parziali (PLS-SEM).I risultati hanno indicato che la pandemia ha influito negativamente sul benessere mentale dei dipendenti, aumentando i livelli di ansia. Tuttavia, un maggior grado di capitale sociale all’interno del luogo di lavoro ha tamponato questi effetti negativi, migliorando la salute mentale durante questo periodo. In sostanza, relazioni e reti forti sul posto di lavoro hanno attenuato l’impatto della pandemia sulla salute mentale dei dipendenti in Ghana. Questi risultati sottolineano l’importanza del capitale sociale nei risultati di salute, soprattutto durante le crisi. Per le industrie del Ghana e non solo, i risultati sottolineano il valore della promozione di reti sociali forti. In tempi di crisi sanitaria, come la pandemia di Covid19, i legami sociali solidi diventano cruciali.
