Ce travail de recherche s’inscrit dans le cadre de la lutte biologique contre les vecteurs de maladies. Il évalue l’activité larvicide, morphométrique, biochimique et biomarqueurs des huiles essentielles extraites de Laurus nobilis sur une espèce de moustique d’importance médicale, Culex pipiens.L’étude expérimentale a permis de déterminer les concentrations létales (CL50 et CL90) des huiles essentielles, ainsi que leurs effets sur la croissance pondérale et linéaire des larves. Des dosages biochimiques ont également été réalisés pour évaluer l’impact des traitements sur les teneurs en glucides, lipides, protéines totales et sur l’activité de certains biomarqueurs enzymatiques (AChE, GSH, GSTs).Les résultats obtenus confirment l’efficacité potentielle des extraits végétaux de Laurus nobilis en tant qu’alternative écologique aux insecticides chimiques, contribuant ainsi à la réduction des risques environnementaux et sanitaires liés à ces derniers.Ce livre s’adresse aux chercheurs, étudiants et professionnels de la santé environnementale, de la biologie appliquée et de l’entomologie médicale.
