Cette étude se concentre sur les théories de la rétention sélective et de l’exposition sélective. Elle vise également à démontrer que les images ont un impact important sur le processus de rétention et de sélection des articles d’actualité. Les images qui sont liées au texte de l’article retiennent beaucoup d’informations. Les photos sans rapport avec le texte ont un taux de rétention intermédiaire. Enfin, les nouvelles qui ne sont que du texte ont un taux de rétention de l’information minimal. L’étude formule les théories de l’exposition sélective et de la rétention sélective en appliquant la méthode de recherche expérimentale à la population de l’université Bahauddin Zakariya de Multan.
