Cet ouvrage présente le rapport d’une étude sur l’amélioration des propriétés de traction du laiton moulé en sable (70/30) par l’ajout de manganèse (Mn) et de silicium (Si) comme éléments d’alliage et par un traitement thermique de recuit à basse température. Une caractérisation microstructurale et des essais de traction ont été réalisés sur des échantillons moulés, usinés et traités thermiquement. Il a été conclu que les laiton pour cartouches soumis à des traitements d’alliage et de recuit présentaient des propriétés de traction améliorées à des températures de recuit de détente.
