Diabetes causes serious affects to health including clinical signs as weight gain and increase food intake. Feed intake and body weight in diabetic control animals increased and in metformin or metformin in combination with cinnamon decreased significantly. Kidney tissues of diabetic control animals showed highly altered histological structure, disruption of glomerulus, vascular pole degeneration, Necrosis of collecting ducts and tubules, expansion of mesangial cells etc., as compared to non-diabetic control animals. Diabetes resulted in weight gain due to increased food intake, suggesting probability of kidney damage. The animals treated with metformin shows that diabetic control kidney restores its normal structure as rearrangement of glomerulus decrease renal tubules dilation spaces and shape of the Bowman’s capsule. Metformin cures the diabetes and kidney shows normal structure as in non-diabetic control animals. Histological results of rabbit kidney treated with metformin in combination with cinnamon showed that rearrangement of glomerulus and Bowman’s capsule showed that metformin and cinnamon are very helpful drugs which cures diabetes.
