As bombas centrífugas são uma das partes mais simples de qualquer instalação de processamento. São utilizadas para o transporte de líquidos em distâncias curtas ou médias através de condutas com uma altura e descarga moderadas . O desempenho da bomba centrífuga é afetado por alguns parâmetros críticos como o ângulo da lingueta da voluta, a velocidade de rotação e o número de pás. Foi considerado um modelo de bomba com uma velocidade de projeto de 2900 rpm e um impulsor radial com 5 números de pás. O campo de escoamento e as caraterísticas da bomba centrífuga com pás são simulados e previstos pelo ANSYS CFX-16.1 . A simulação é estável e é aplicada uma estrutura de referência móvel para ter em conta a interação entre o impulsor e a voluta. a interação entre o impulsor e a voluta. A distribuição da pressão total e as alterações na altura manométrica, bem como a eficiência da bomba, são calculadas e discutidas para diferentes ângulos de inclinação .
