O estudo foi realizado no insectário de zoologia do Departamento de Zoologia, Entomologia e Ciências da Pesca da Universidade de Makerere. O objetivo geral era determinar a temperatura óptima para a eclosão dos ovos de grilos domésticos. Foram testadas seis temperaturas, a saber: 26, 28, 30, 32, 34 e 36°C, para determinar o seu efeito na eclodibilidade dos ovos de grilo doméstico (Acheta domesticus). Foram utilizadas incubadoras aquecidas a estas diferentes temperaturas para incubar os ovos e monitorizadas até ao momento da eclosão, tendo sido determinado o efeito da temperatura no tempo de incubação, na percentagem de eclosão e no peso das ninfas.
