O estudo de investigação intitulado 'Effect of Farm Mechanization on Farm labour requirement in Paddy among Land Poor and Landless labour in Trichy district in Tamil Nadu' foi realizado para explorar os efeitos da mecanização agrícola nas oportunidades de subsistência dos sem-terra e dos pobres rurais, bem como a variabilidade socioeconómica a nível local, os factores de mudança e a influência na garantia de oportunidades não agrícolas em Tamil Nadu. O distrito de Tiruchirappalli foi selecionado para o presente estudo por ter nascido em Tamil Nadu uma área de arroz irrigada e não irrigada pelo canal de Cauvery. Os resultados mostraram que a utilização de máquinas agrícolas pelos inquiridos é baixa. Por conseguinte, parece ser uma boa opção organizar demonstrações no terreno para promover estas ferramentas entre a comunidade agrícola, o que pode acelerar a sensibilização e a aceitação.
