It is obvious that the contribution of education to human development is very significant as it promotes economic growth, boosts income, improves people’s health and general awareness. Uniform education policy is followed throughout the country, but the status and growth of education varies across States and regions. Education being a State subject, State interventions have been different. Likewise intra-State variations in the growth and impact of education are the common features in most of the States because of regional disparities. All the regions fail to respond equally to government policies and interventions. Backward people are not aware of various provisions and facilities available to them, what to speak up exploiting it to their fullest benefit. Very often the advantages lie in the outreach of these people. It is of interest to know how these people have remained deprived in accessing education and taking advantage of it in raising their income and combating diseases and acquiring necessary information about the environment around them, thereby not succeeding in enriching their general awareness.
