Educating civic-minded professionals is about higher education’s role in preparing students for professional practice and, by extension, higher education’s role in serving society and the public good. This book is based on the assumption that university programmes aimed at preparing students for professional practice have a responsibility to promote professional responsibility. So future professional workers need to be afforded support and guidance not only in developing skills and knowledge necessary for solving technical problems that arise in professional practice but also in developing and exercising professional dispositions and qualities that lead them to do what is right.
