This research work is towards an anthropological study andinterpretation of the nature and functions of Edina Asafo Companies and theirPosts in the socio-cultural life of the people, where these institutions and theirmonuments feature prominently in their annual calendar.The early visual art traditions of the Edina people, especially the AsafoCompanies consist of Architectural forms, sculptures, paintings, graphicalsymbols, documentation of events and thoughts.The Edina Asafo visual arts express both the traditions and aspirationsof the textiles, flags, mascots and others which were used as the basis for theirsoul and being of the Edina people, for what they experienced in the past andwhat is considered desirable for the present and the future. Certainly the artsgive visual meanings to those ideas and thoughts that pervade therepresentation of the Asafo forms and concepts that showcased the highlyspiritual and artistic inspirations of the traditional artists.
