O objetivo do livro é criar orientações básicas de projeto para edifícios altos e suas modificações aerodinâmicas como um recurso para arquitetos, engenheiros, desenvolvedores e estudantes. O objetivo é contribuir e reforçar, em particular, a compreensão do arquiteto sobre o projeto de edifícios altos, que requer um alto nível de abordagem interdisciplinar, fornecendo uma visão geral ampla do edifício alto com os seus conceitos gerais; demonstrar a importância do elemento humano como componente crítico no projeto de edifícios altos, esclarecendo as forças do vento e os movimentos resultantes que causam desconforto aos ocupantes do edifício e criam sérios problemas de funcionalidade; e mostrar a importância das modificações aerodinâmicas como uma abordagem de projeto eficaz em termos de mitigação da excitação do vento.
