Ecology and Revolution is an in-depth exploration of the global ecological crisis in the larger context of historical conditions and political options shaped by the inability of the existing political system to adequately confront the crisis. Going far beyond the issue of global warming, this volume explores a range of solutions proferred by liberals, environmental reformists, anarchists, and classical Marxists, among others, and shows how they are inadequate for meeting the major political challenge of the current epoch. Boggs calls for a distinctly radical alternative merging the best of the green political tradition, Marxist socialism, and the force of popular movements to provide a comprehensive ecological analysis of the modern crisis within its broader economic, political, and global context.
