'公开水域游泳运动（OPEN WATER SWIMMING）,简单地说,是指在江、河、湖、海中进行的游泳运动,同时也是一项户外活动。公开水域游泳运动与其他项目相比,具有更强的健身性、健美性、娱乐性和锻炼人的意志品质的作用,同时,也是一项具有一定风险的户外游泳活动。公开水域游泳运动是奥林匹支运动所倡导的绿色体育运动须目,是适合大众参与的体育运动项目,具有广泛的群众基础。新中国建立之初,我国便大力开展公开水城游泳活动,从国家领导人到社会大众都积极投入到这项运动中来。尤其是20世纪60年代初,同志向全国人民发出了'游泳是同大自然作斗争的一种运动,你们应该到大江大海去袋炼'的号召,同时多次身体力行地畅游横渡长江的伟大实践给全国人民树立了光辉的典范。1998年中国游泳协会在福建古田举办的次全国公开水域游泳锦标赛标志着我国科学的、有计划地开展公开水域游泳选动的开始,2002年,国家体育总局批准公开水域游泳为全国第98个正式开展的体育项目。2003年,国家体育总局批准公开水域游泳比赛作为国内正式比赛颈目之一。2004年中国游泳协会成立公开水域游泳委员会。2011年,公开水城游泳项目成为全运会比赛项目。作者简介张铭,赵春英编著??
