The Jack Scruby Award (1995) summarised him as an American original, an entrepreneur and business man, a master sculptor, designer, and painter, a rule writer, publisher, and historian, a master showman, salesman, friend of Donald Featherstone and advocate. This book is published by the History of Wargaming Project as part on ongoing efforts to document the development of wargaming.
