Nonostante le numerose leggi fondiarie approvate, l’accesso delle donne alla proprietà della terra nelle zone rurali del Burkina Faso è ancora basso (22,52%). Lo scarso accesso alla terra da parte delle donne rurali limita la loro autonomia alimentare e finanziaria e le priva dei mezzi per provvedere a se stesse, ai loro figli e alle loro famiglie, sia in termini di cibo che di salute. L’analisi di regressione logistica multilivello, effettuata con i dati dell’EDSBF 2021, mostra che il 16,14% dell’accesso delle donne alla proprietà della terra nelle zone rurali del Burkina Faso è spiegato dall’effetto comunità. Per migliorare l’accesso delle donne alla proprietà della terra, nelle strategie di intervento può essere utile tenere conto di fattori individuali (età delle donne, stato civile, parità figli/sesso, stato occupazionale, etnia, religione) e contestuali (regione di residenza, percentuale di donne coinvolte nel processo decisionale della comunità).
