A doença falciforme continua a ser um problema de saúde pública importante. A OMS estima que a taxa de portadores é de 6,5%, o que sugere a existência de 30 000 casos das principais formas de talassemia e de anemia falciforme em Marrocos. O nosso estudo incide sobre o perfil epidemiológico, clínico, genético, terapêutico e evolutivo da síndrome falciforme major no hospital de Kénitra, em Marrocos. Trata-se de um estudo retrospetivo e descritivo durante 5 anos (2011-2015). 232 crianças com doença falciforme com menos de 15 anos de idade, admitidas por infecções bacterianas e crises vaso-oclusivas em enfermarias pediátricas.A análise permitiu-nos recolher dados dos registos médicos dos doentes. Os resultados dos estudos mostram que (3,77%) dos pacientes internados na SP-CHP de Kénitra. A idade média dos nossos doentes internados foi de 8,41 ± 4,02 anos, enquanto a idade média registada durante o rastreio foi de 5,7 ± 3,12 anos. A forma SS predominou até aos 5 anos de idade, com uma frequência registada de 55,5%.
