KIRCHHOFF3, Lord RAYLEIGH’ u. a. ededigt, wahrend die qJlgemeine mathematische Be­ griindung der Schwingungstheorie elastischer Kontinua und die noch fehlenden L6sungen gewisser Existenzfragen in den Untersuchungen von D. HILBERT5, 1. FREDHOLM6 und E. SCHMIDT7 im Zusammenhang mit der Theorie der linearen Integralgleichungen nachgeholt worden sind. Die Lehre von den Schwingungen elastischer K6rper war kritischen Drehzahlen umlaufender Wellen behandelt werden.
