Das internationale Wirtschaftsrecht ist ein interdisziplinäres Gebiet, das sowohl das öffentliche als auch das internationale Privatrecht umfasst.Das internationale Wirtschaftsrecht umfasst die Bereiche des internationalen Handelsrechts, des internationalen Finanzrechts, des traditionellen internationalen Privatrechts, der regionalen Wirtschaftsintegration (Europäische Union, ASEAN und andere regionale Handelsorganisationen), des internationalen Entwicklungsrechts, der internationalen Handelsschiedsgerichtsbarkeit, des internationalen Rechts des geistigen Eigentums und der internationalen Unternehmensregulierung.Zu den wichtigsten Akteuren bei der Gestaltung des internationalen Wirtschaftsrechts gehören die Welthandelsorganisation (WTO), die Organisation für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (OECD), das Internationale Zentrum zur Beilegung von Investitionsstreitigkeiten, die Internationale Handelskammer und die UN-Kommission für internationales Handelsrecht.
