In dieser Studie werden die Funktionen von Schulen in nichtstaatlicher Trägerschaft im Kontext von Post-Konflikt-Gesellschaften untersucht. Am Beispiel der protestantischen Primarschulen in Ruanda wird die Bedeutung evangelischer Schulen hinsichtlich Bildungsgerechtigkeit und Bildungsqualität sowie gesellschaftlicher Segregation datengestützt sichtbar gemacht und diskutiert. Damit wird die Bedeutung von Schulen in konfessioneller Trägerschaft in Subsahara-Afrika exemplarisch empirisch beschrieben.
