Die im Roman thematisierte Abdankung der autoritären Erziehungsform steht im Kontext mit dem mentalgeschichtlichen Umbruch in der Literatur und dem Ende der Nachkriegsliteratur der siebziger Jahre. „Der aufklärerische, antiautoritäre Impetus jener Jahre ist bis in einige phantastische Figuren hinein spürbar [...].'1 Gerade in diesem Jahrzehnt erfährt die Kinder- und Jugendliteratur eine Revolution. Strukturelle Veränderungen in der Familie und politische Dimensionen in Bezug auf das Privatleben werden literarisch dargestellt.
