Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: In zahlreichen Diskussionen wird derzeit die Frage gestellt, wie das Personalmanagement, aufgrund des sich vollziehenden Wandels, im Unternehmen auszurichten ist, wie ihr Nutzen für die Organisation erhöht und gleichzeitig die Kosten für ihre Dienste gesenkt werden können. Es wurde erkannt, dass Personalmanagement der Schlüssel zum langfristigen Erfolg des Unternehmens ist, doch wie sollen zukünftige Herausforderungen gemeistert werden? Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, muss der Fokus von den rein administrativen Aufgaben auf die strategische Bedeutung und Leistung verlagert werden. Zunächst wird ein Überblick über den sich vollziehenden Wandel und über die historische Entwicklung der Personalarbeit gegeben. Der Wandel erfordert ein Umdenken über die Bedeutung der Personalarbeit für den Unternehmenserfolg, daher wird das „Personal“ als Humanvermögen verstanden und ein Bezug zum Unternehmenserfolg aufgezeigt. Aus der Entwicklung der Personalarbeit und der zunehmenden Bedeutung des Faktors „Personal“ wird das Human Ressources Management entwickelt. Neue Herausforderungen machen ein unternehmerisches Personalmanagement notwendig und erfordern auch neue und flexible Organisationsstrukturen. Hierüber wird ein Überblick gegeben. Um dem Anspruch, dass die Personalabteilung ihren Nutzen für das Unternehmen transparent machen und erhöhen soll, gerecht zu werden, wird die Wertkette analysiert. An dieser Stelle sind nun die Grundlagen für das Verständnis der Neustrukturierung und der Wertschöpfung im Personalmanagement vermittelt worden. Daher wird im weiteren auf die Bedeutung der Personalarbeit für die Wertschöpfung eingegangen. Hierzu wird der Begriff geklärt und das Wertschöpfungs-Center-Konzept, als neues Organisationskonzept, vorgestellt. Empirische Untersuchungen zeigen, dass mehr und mehr Unternehmensfunktionen als Profit Center organisiert werden.
