Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen familieninternen und familienexternen Geschäftsführern in Familienunternehmen kann durch Asymmetrien auf der Beziehungsebene belastet sein. In Anlehnung an teampsychologische Forschung untersucht Alisa Pfeiffer, welche sozialen Mechanismen auf die Effektivität dieser gemischten Geschäftsführungsteams förderlich wirken. Das zugrunde liegende theoretische Rahmengerüst bilden Input-Process-Output (IPO) -Modelle, die auf den Organisationskontext Familienunternehmen übertragen werden. Mittels eines Mixed-Method-Ansatzes können die Ergebnisse zweier Erhebungen kombiniert werden. Die Resultate weisen darauf hin, dass soziale Steuerungsmechanismen durch familieninterne Geschäftsführer sowie die Forcierung einer partnerschaftlich orientierten Beziehungsebene wesentliche Elemente der Teameffektivität bilden, ebenso wie eine konstruktive Bewältigung von Konflikten.
