Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Note: 1,0, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Literaturwissenschaft, Theaterwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Seminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der vorliegenden Hausarbeit habe ich es mir zum Ziel gesetzt, die Übertragung von Ernst Kantorowiczs These der „Zwei Körper des Königs' auf das Volk zu Zeiten der Französischen Revolution zu untersuchen.Zunächst wird Kantorowiczs Studie zur politischen Theologie des Mittelalters, die den König als doppelte Inkorporation eines „body politic' und eines „body natural' mythologisiert, dargelegt, bevor dann Rousseaus „Contrat Social' als Erschaffung eines neuen politischen Körpers die Grundlage legt für Untersuchungen des neuen „body politic', dessen Errichtung die französischen Revolutionäre in der „Terreur' anstreben. Hierbei wird auch auf Widersprüche und Aporien eingegangen, die Rousseaus Werk durchziehen und die - in der Praxis der Terreur - die Undurchsetzbarkeit der revolutionären Ideale mitbedingen. Das Drama 'Dantons Tod' liefert, in Büchners gleichzeitiger Distanz und Nähe im deutschen Vormärz, die Grundlage für diese Hausarbeit.
