Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Gesundheit - Public Health, Note: 1,0, APOLLON Hochschule der Gesundheitswirtschaft in Bremen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diabetes Mellitus Typ 2 ist eine Erkrankung mit zunehmender Prävalenz in Deutschland. Gerade in Wohlstandsgesellschaften zählt der Typ 2 des Diabetes Mellitus zu den häufigsten Zivilisationskrankheiten. Unter dem Einfluss des demographischen Wandels hin zu einer immer älter werdenden Gesellschaft, wird auch in Zukunft die Inzidenz dieser Erkrankung weiter zunehmen. Auch unter Kostengesichtspunkten ist daher Diabetes Mellitus von hoher Bedeutung für die deutsche Gesellschaft. In der Arbeit wird auf die epidemiologischen Daten von Diabetes Mellitus, die altersspezifischen Aspekte sowie die Kostenseite der chronischen Erkrankung eingegangen. Des Weiteren werden existierende Präventionsprogramme vorgestellt und Anregungen für neue Programme geliefert.
