Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Geschichte Deutschlands - Neuere Geschichte, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese schriftliche Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, welche Gründe zur Auswanderung von mehr als fünf Millionen Deutschen in die USA führten und wie es im 19. Jahrhundert zu regelrechten „Wellen' der Auswanderung kommen konnte unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der sozialen Struktur der Auswanderer und dem historischen Kontext. Um diese Frage ausführlich beantworten zu können, werden zunächst die sozialen, politischen und ökonomischen Hintergründe Deutschlands beleuchtet, wobei besonders die Faktoren betrachtet werden, die die Menschen aus der Heimat drängten.Aus diesen Gründen gebe ich einen sozio-historischen Überblick, da ich mir bei meiner Recherche besonders die Frage gestellt habe, welche Bevölkerungsgruppen auswanderten und wieso sie dafür gerade Amerika wählten.
