Na sociedade contemporânea, o bem-estar mental é uma questão de crescente relevância e preocupação. O stress, a depressão e a ansiedade afectam um número significativo de pessoas em todo o mundo, com impacto na sua qualidade de vida e funcionamento diário. Entre os grupos mais susceptíveis a estas condições encontram-se os estudantes universitários, que enfrentam ambientes académicos desafiantes, transições de vida e uma pressão crescente para alcançar o sucesso académico e profissional. O objetivo do estudo foi identificar os determinantes do estado de saúde mental dos estudantes da Universidade de Ixtlahuaca e da Universidade Católica da Colômbia. O tipo de estudo com que trabalhámos foi o derrogatório, de amostragem aleatória, um desenho não experimental de tipo transeccional ou transversal.Foram encontradas pontuações elevadas em cada um dos indicadores de stress, depressão e ansiedade, razão pela qual é importante identificar os factores que desencadeiam estes indicadores, a fim de implementar estratégias para reduzir os sintomas.
