O aceclofenaco é um derivado do ácido fenilacético com propriedades anti-inflamatórias e analgésicas. O aceclofenaco bloqueia diretamente a secreção de PEG-2 no local da inflamação, inibindo a IL e o TNF nas células inflamatórias. O aceclofenaco bloqueia a degeneração e estimula a síntese da matriz extracelular da cartilagem através da inibição das citocinas. Por isso, é utilizado na artrite reumatoide, osteoartrite e espondilite anquilosante. O aceclofenaco tem uma parte ácida que produz úlceras gástricas. Previne úlceras gástricas através do revestimento entérico.
