Dans l’environnement commercial mondialisé d’aujourd’hui, la logistique est devenue l’un des facteurs les plus cruciaux qui déterminent la compétitivité des organisations. Le succès des entreprises ne dépend plus seulement de la qualité de leurs produits, mais aussi de leur capacité à livrer ces produits efficacement, en toute sécurité et au bon moment. Avec la croissance rapide du commerce électronique, la libéralisation du commerce mondial et les attentes croissantes des clients, les entreprises sont de plus en plus contraintes d’optimiser les opérations de leur chaîne d’approvisionnement. Cependant, la gestion de la logistique en interne nécessite de lourds investissements dans l’infrastructure, la technologie, la main-d’œuvre qualifiée et les réseaux mondiaux, ce qui n’est pas toujours possible pour toutes les entreprises. Pour relever ces défis, les entreprises font de plus en plus appel à des prestataires de services logistiques tiers (3PL), qui agissent en tant que partenaires spécialisés gérant les activités clés de la chaîne d’approvisionnement pour le compte des entreprises clientes.
