Die Autorin führt dazu fünf leitfadengestützte, episodische Interviews mit Angehörigen, von denen entweder ein Elternteil oder der Ehepartner in eine stationäre Alten- und Pflegeeinrichtung gezogen ist. Die digital aufgezeichneten Gespräche wurden transkribiert und analysiert. Das Erleben der befragten Angehörigen wird in sechs Kategorien näher beschrieben, dabei liegt ein Fokus auf den zu bewältigenden emotionalen Konflikten in der Pflegebeziehung.
