Bundestag und Bundesrat haben 1996 das Telekommunikationsgesetz (TKG) verabschiedet. Das Gesetz hat wesentlich zum Wettbewerb in der Telekommunikation beigetragen. Märkte, Technologien und Regulierungserfahrungen haben sich auf nationaler, europäischer und weltweiter Ebene lebhaft weiterentwickelt. Es erhebt sich die Frage, ob das TKG auch künftig der geeignete Rahmen ist bzw. ob und in welchem Umfang Gesetzesänderungen angezeigt sein könnten. Die Novellierung des TKG steht an. In der Fachkonferenz 'Das Telekommunikationsgesetz auf dem Prüfstand' haben führende Vertreter aus Politik, Telekommunikationswirtschaft und Wissenschaft die Leistungsfähigkeit des TKG beurteilt, seinen Novellierungsbedarf erörtert und mit einem kompetenten Fachpublikum diskutiert.
