Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Ethnologie / Volkskunde, Note: 1,0, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Institut für Ethnologie und Afrikanistik), Veranstaltung: Geschichte und Theorie der Ethnologie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit aus dem Fachbereich Ethnologie beleuchtet den Kunstgriff, welchen Claude Lévi-Strauss bei der Entwicklung des Strukturalismus als Kulturtheorie anwandte: er griff auf die theoretischen Unterscheidungen des Sprachwissenschaftlers Ferdinand de Saussure zurück und wandte diese auf menschliche Kultur im allgemeinen an. Knapp werden die Hintergründe der beiden Wissenschaftler aufgezeigt, ebenso fehlt nicht ein Verweis auf den Prager Kreis. Hauptbestandteil der Arbeit ist die Klärung der relevanten Unterscheidungen de Saussures (z.B. langue, parole und langage) und eine kritische Diskussion des Vorhabens Lévi-Strauss’.
