Mediante un estudio histórico de los bailes urbanos y entrevistas con profesores de educación física, el libro elabora un plan de enseñanza de los bailes urbanos a la luz de la pedagogía de supervisión crítica y de los documentos oficiales que regulan la enseñanza en las escuelas públicas brasileñas. A través de un enfoque realista y didáctico, las actividades propuestas pretenden hacer posible el tratamiento de esta materia en las clases de Educación Física, sabiendo que la principal razón por la que el profesor no trabaja con este contenido es la falta de dominio técnico, que puede cambiarse si hay un cambio de perspectiva por parte del profesor. Así, se espera que con este trabajo se contribuya al proceso de democratización de la enseñanza de los bailes urbanos en las escuelas públicas brasileñas.
