Zarządzanie projektem to funkcja nadzorcza wykonywana przez cały cykl życia projektu. W przeciwieństwie do innych zadań w ramach projektu, procesy te nie są jednak ustandaryzowane. Nadzór nad wszystkimi projektami w środowisku wieloprojektowym powinien mieć ten sam cel. Prace te są często wykonywane przez różne osoby z organizacji liniowych, które niekoniecznie są zaangażowane w daną tematykę. Procesy związane z tym nadzorem są ciągle na nowo opracowywane i dojrzewają wraz z ich stosowaniem. W tym celu niniejsza praca bada, czy kroki w kierunku zarządzania procesami w tym obszarze nie byłyby sensowne. Na podstawie analizy wywiadów dotyczących problemów, przeprowadzonych z kierownictwem biur projektowych, oraz analizy literatury przedmiotu, zbadano status quo w niektórych austriackich przedsiębiorstwach branży ICT oraz kilka nowych trendów w literaturze przedmiotu pochodzących z publikacji międzynarodowych. Przyjrzano się również nowym technologiom i trendom społecznym w świecie pracy. Wynikiem tej pracy jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy standaryzacja w tym obszarze ma sens.
