Drawing from multiple sources, including films, political speeches, literature, and autoethnography, Cuban Identity and the Angolan Experience reveals the underlying mythological context for Operation Carlota. By tracing the evolution of slave iconology during the first five-most ideological-years of the intervention, Peters reveals a parallel shift in Cuba’s regional identification from Latin American to Caribbean.
