No contexto atual, as práticas pedagógicas de creches e pré-escolas vêm sendo desafiadas a questionar concepções sustentadas por padrões de desenvolvimento preestabelecidos pela psicologia. Problematizar teorias que idealizam a criança pode significar afirmar e escutar as crianças com seus modos de ser e pensar.Este livro apresenta uma pesquisa que investigou os sentidos da produção discursiva por meio da qual a educação infantil (re)produz o lugar institucional da “criança-problema”. Algumas crianças se distanciam da norma e são apontadas como “desviantes”. Contudo, criam estratégias sutis de resistência à normatização, desenhando singularidades na forma como nela se inserem. O livro traz reflexões que podem contribuir para a tarefa da educação infantil de desnaturalizar práticas normativas e afirmar a diversidade das infâncias nas relações cotidianas. Sugere que o encontro com a infância é um exercício de alteridade e deste modo, é também uma prática de resistência. 10
