Lo scopo di questo studio è stato quello di analizzare i livelli di crescita fisica e lo stato nutrizionale dei bambini di un comune della regione metropolitana di Curitiba, Paraná (BRA), mettendo in relazione i dati relativi all’Indice di Massa Corporea (IMC), alla Circonferenza Vita (WC) e al Rapporto Vita/Altezza (WHtR) dei bambini brasiliani con quelli di altri Paesi del mondo, utilizzando curve e determinando percentili. Lo studio stesso fornisce indicatori di salute in modo da poter condurre nuove ricerche sanitarie per combattere l’obesità infantile, identificando gli aspetti psicosociali che possono influenzare l’età adulta.
