L’étude porte sur le niveau de coordination des politiques monétaires et fiscales en République de Macédoine au cours de la période 1992-2013. L’objectif est d’explorer la relation entre les politiques, les formes de coopération et de déterminer quelle politique s’est adaptée à l’objectif de préservation de la stabilité macroéconomique. L’évaluation des interactions entre les politiques et le niveau de leur coordination est réalisée en appliquant deux approches : une approche bilancielle, une évaluation de l’impact des opérations fiscales et monétaires sur la liquidité du système bancaire, et une évaluation de la cyclicité des politiques. L’étude examine également l’indépendance de la banque centrale et la conception institutionnelle des procédures budgétaires qui peuvent influencer la discipline et les résultats budgétaires et donc l’adéquation de l’ensemble des politiques macroéconomiques. L’étude montre que, pour la plupart des années analysées, le dosage budgétaire et monétaire a permis de préserver la stabilité macroéconomique.
