Il libro trattava dell’uso di sei diversi estratti botanici, ovvero buccia d’arancia (Citrus sinensis), kortuma (Citrullus colosynthus), bakain (Melia azadarach), ak (Calotropis procera), Neem (Azadirachta indica) e Knair (Neirum oleander) su tre specie di afidi, ovvero l’afide della senape (Lipaphis erysimi), l’afide del ciliegio selvatico e dell’avena (Rhopalosiphum padi) e l’afide dell’oleandro (Aphis nerii), in condizioni di laboratorio, al fine di ottenere un controllo ecocompatibile di questi insetti nocivi. I risultati hanno mostrato che la percentuale massima di mortalità è stata causata da Citrus e Ak, seguiti da Neem, Bakain, Kortuma e Knair (rispettivamente 72,83, 72,83, 47,05, 46,29, 35,26 e 19,64%) nei confronti del quarto stadio larvale dell’afide della senape (Lipaphis erysimi).
