Esta tese tem como objetivo analisar a relação entre a inflação e o crescimento económico em Marrocos, utilizando uma abordagem original que combina teoria e prática. A análise dos dados trimestrais de 2000 a 2019, utilizando o modelo de limiar, revelou que não existe uma relação linear entre estas duas variáveis. Os resultados identificaram uma taxa de inflação de 3% como óptima. O limiar de inflação acima do qual a inflação tem um impacto negativo significativo no crescimento económico em Marrocos é de cerca de 3%, com um efeito positivo estatisticamente insignificante abaixo deste limiar. No entanto, o efeito negativo da relação entre estes dois agregados aumenta à medida que o limiar de inflação ultrapassa os 3%. Estes resultados indicam que as autoridades monetárias marroquinas podem flexibilizar ligeiramente as restrições das regras monetárias da taxa de inflação fixada num limiar implícito inferior a 2%.
