L’obiettivo generale di questo studio è stato quello di indagare le conoscenze di un gruppo di insegnanti di scuola primaria del comune di Lauro de Freitas, Bahia, in merito all’insegnamento, all’apprendimento e alla valutazione in matematica. La ricerca è stata condotta con nove insegnanti di quinta elementare delle scuole comunali del comune in questione. Per la raccolta dei dati sono stati utilizzati due strumenti: un’intervista e un questionario. L’intervista è stata utilizzata per conoscere i profili degli insegnanti intervistati e anche gli elementi relativi alle rispettive scuole, oltre che per raccogliere dati sulle conoscenze degli insegnanti in materia di insegnamento e apprendimento della matematica. Il questionario è stato suddiviso in tre parti con l’obiettivo di raccogliere dati su: I - la conoscenza del Prova Brasil da parte degli insegnanti; II - la conoscenza della Matrice di riferimento per la valutazione del Prova Brasil; III - la conoscenza di alcune delle domande che compongono il Prova Brasil in matematica da parte degli insegnanti. Per il supporto teorico, abbiamo cercato contributi nazionali e internazionali.
