Se compendian los hallazgos encontrados en un estudio de caso, llevado a cabo con estudiantes y profesores de la Universidad Icesi, en el que se exploran las concepciones que este grupo humano tiene sobre la escritura académica. Para este fin, se utilizaron tres tipos de instrumentos: encuestas para profesores y estudiantes, instructivos que los profesores entregan para realizar los trabajos escritos y producciones de los estudiantes. Este estudio permitió corroborar resultados de estudios anteriores que muestran que las concepciones de los profesores sobre la escritura influyen directamente en las prácticas de sus estudiantes. Se encontró, además, que cuando los profesores consignan comentarios pertinentes en los trabajos de sus estudiantes, éstos logran una mejor conceptualización sobre los modos de escribir. A raíz de los hallazgos, se plantean algunas inquietudes que ameritan estudios más profundos.
