El marco teórico-conceptual de la compresión lectora y producción textual es proporcionado por la psicolingüística. Presenta los principios del constructivismo que rige toda la actividad pedagógica y opta por el enfoque comunicativo funcional del lenguaje, el constructivismo centra su atención en las relaciones entre el aprendizaje de la lengua escrita y el desarrollo cognitivo del niño, en los procesos de construcción de la lengua escrita, en la participación activa del niño en la adquisición de su gramática etc. Propicia el inicio de la reflexión sobre la lectura y la escritura desde el nivel primario hasta el superior. Todas estas razones guían la elaboración del libro: Estrategias de compresión lectora y producción textual. En él se ofrecen estrategias para desarrollar la comprensión lectora y producción de los diversos textos. El propósito es contribuir a fortalecer las capacidades teóricas y práctico-estratégicas de la actividad pedagógica relacionada con la enseñanza-aprendizaje de leer y producir para aprender.  10
